Alison Wright is an English actor from the UK. Her best-known role is as Martha Hanson in the FX the spy-themed period drama The Americans. She received not only praise from critics but also nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award for this. The actress also appeared in the Ryan Murphy limited series Feud: Bette & Joan and Hollywood. Wright was born on July 12, 1976 at Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, where she was raised by her adoptive parents. She began dancing and acting at a young age. The job of waitressing was where she worked while she tried out for roles. The love of her life, scuba and diving, put her in a deep coma when, while scubadiving at sea, she experienced a heart attack.
